ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Standard Concrete Industries (SCI) recognises that environmental management and economic development are inextricably linked. It is aware that its activities can have considerable impact on the environment. Consequently, SCI will maintain a reasonable, positive and objective attitude to the environment. We shall continuously monitor and regulate our operations so as to achieve the highest objects and practicable level of environmental awareness, standards and practices.

THE COMPANY'S RESONABILITIES
Comply with relevant legislation as a minimum
Provide ongoing training and updating staff - to focus on environment awareness, responsibility and techniques.
Monitor and control emissions to keep within approved levels.
Conserve resources ( energy, materials, fuel, water) through re-used or recycling materials and reducing usage to minimise waste.
Properly manage waste and chemical products to ensure that they are carefully handled, stored and disposed of.
Substitute harmful products with safer alternatives.
Recognise and respond to community concerns.
Develop and implement a contingency plan to respond to incidents and minimise hazards.

   

THE EMPLOYEE'S RESPONSIBILITIES

Comply with laws, regulations and standards relevant to their job
Participate actively in the implementation of this policy
Encourage our suppliers and contractors to abide by the spirit if this policy

MANAGERS
At all levels have that responsibility and authority to ensure that the company's environmental objects are achieved. They will identify and support measures to eliminate adverse impact on the environment. They will identify and monitor environment training requirements within their respective departments.

SUPERVISORS
Are responsible for the prevention of environment accidents arising from the working environment. Their performance as supervisors includes the ability to identify, reduce and prevent environmental accidents within their hazards.

EMPLOYEES
Must assume responsibility for the safeguard of the environment within their working entourage. They must correct use equipment, report defect and/or take correct action to stop or prevent adverse impacts on the environments within their direct control.
